Minutes of the Met Police Football IAG
Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) are set up to allow groups of people to act as that “critical friend” to the Police, in our case the Metropolitan Police. At IAG meetings questions are asked, police actions and initiatives explained/questioned and information shared.
This season WHUST is chairing the Met Police IAG for football supporters.
The minutes of the last meeting:
Subsequent to the meeting, Sue Watson, WHUST chair, says:
“We have concerns about facial recognition technology in that again football fans are being singled out unfairly. We raised several concerns and sought as many assurances as possible. We will be monitoring the usage of live facial recognition technology and keep asking the police questions. They may be watching us, but WHUST will be watching them.”
This is the leaflet referred to in the minutes about the live facial recognition technology.
